English The 2025-26 academic year marks an exciting milestone for STEMAR with the launch of the Scientific Boat project, which is the first initiative to integrate Geography into its comprehensive STEM learning model.
STEMAR continues to expand the frontiers of project-based learning with the introduction of Scientific Boat, a groundbreaking educational project that, for the first time, brings geography into the STEMAR ecosystem. By combining engineering, physics, and environmental science with geographical exploration, the project gives students a deeper understanding of how science interacts with the natural world, and how knowledge can be applied to real-world challenges related to water resources.
In the 2025-26 academic year, STEMAR is setting sail on a brand-new adventure. We are proud to announce the launch of Scientific Boat, an innovative educational project that represents the next evolution of hands-on STEM learning — and the first initiative in our program to integrate geography as a core component.
The idea behind Scientific Boat is simple yet transformative: to give students a holistic, real-world learning experience that connects science and technology with the physical world around them. In this project, students will not only design and engineer functional model boats, but they will also explore the geographical and environmental factors that influence their operation.
The Scientific Boat project also emphasizes critical 21st-century skills such as data analysis and resource analysis. Students will work collaboratively to research geographical contexts, test their boats in different conditions, and present their findings much like real scientists and engineers working on water resource challenges today.
As with all STEMAR projects, Scientific Boat is designed to spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and show students that learning is most powerful when it reflects the complexity and interconnectedness of the real world. It’s a journey of discovery across disciplines, ideas, and possibilities.
With the launch of this project, STEMAR reaffirms its commitment to expanding the horizons of education, equipping the next generation with the knowledge and mindset they need to navigate the challenges of the future.
