History
Founded in 2021 in New Jersey, the PIERIS Fund was established as a non-profit, tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) with a belief that quality STEM education can inspire the future of Armenia.
Our first major initiative was a collaborative partnership with Armenia’s A. Alikhanyan National Science Laboratory, specifically the Advanced Center for Detection Technologies (ACDT), aimed at strengthening scientific research capabilities and connecting students with cutting-edge STEM research.
Building on this foundation, the STEMAR program launched in 2022 in Armenia, quickly gaining momentum by partnering with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports to bring modern, hands-on STEM learning to students in underserved regions.
By the end of the 2024-2025 academic year, the STEMAR program had reached 19 schools across 3 regions (Tavush, Gegharkunik, Ararat) and is expanding to 27 schools across 5 regions in 2025–2026. In recognition of its impact, the NCEDI Foundation officially endorsed STEMAR as a recommended project-based learning model for educators.
Today, PIERIS continues to grow, building partnerships, and fostering connections that open doors for young learners everywhere.
