The idea ACDT was proposed by scientists of experimental physics division who are participating in international collaborations. It brought our international cooperation to a higher level, and introduced to Armenia a culture that meets the international standards for measuring crystals optical and radiation properties.

The creation and furnishing of the Advanced Detector Laboratory started in 2020 with the support of the AANL leadership and direct financial support of PIERIS fund. ACDT provides real conditions in AANL for prototyping and construction of modern Detectors for high energy particle physics. Essentially improving our position and level of our contribution in international collaborations, facilitate our on-site methodological research and enable the construction of state-of-the-art experimental equipment.

ACDT occupies area of ~50 m2 and equipped with tools for accurate measuring of crystals dimensions and determining their optical properties (Transmittance and light yield). Planed to gradually supplement it with new equipment and electronics, which will significantly expand the scope and possibilities for studies.
